Harry Briscoe Selden Jr., 75, of Palestine, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Cartmell Home.
Mr. Selden was born Feb. 20, 1939 in Palestine, the son of Harry and Jennie Selden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Jennie Selden.
Mr. Selden graduated from Palestine High School and Texas Tech University. He was a mechanical engineer for Bell Helicopter until his retirement in 2000.
He is survived by his sister, Sherea Sue Sumrall of Palestine; his niece, Suzanne Ware and husband Carl of Palestine; his nephew, Harry Sumrall and wife Leslie of Oakland, Calif.; great-nephew, Mike Ware and wife Catherine of Palestine; great-niece, Holly Chason and husband Chad of Tomball; and great-nephew, Sam Sumrall of San Francisco, Calif.
Mr. Selden also had three great-great-nieces, Ella Ware and Addy Hogg of Palestine, and Elizabeth Chason of Tomball; and two great-greatnephews, Peter and Michael Ware of Palestine.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Palestine City Cemetery with the Rev. Woody Meredith officiating. Arrangements have been made with Bailey and Foster Funeral Home in Palestine.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and to Cartmell Home.
