Services for Dolena “Granny” Simien, 83, of Palestine, were at 2 p.m. Monday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Bubba Ellis and Joseph Simien Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Simien died Saturday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 21, 1930 in Oklahoma to Alex and Marie Fontenot.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Wayne Simien; and 12 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Eddie Simien; a son, Verlin Joseph Simien; a daughter, Tammy Luce and husband Stewart, all of Palestine; grandchildren, Telisa Killion and husband Wes, April Allen and husband Brit, Tiffany Daniels, Joe Simien Jr and wife Nouf, Joeline Simien, Jon Simien and wife Alice, Shelby Luce, Presley Luce, Jason Simien and Kamisha Simien; great-grandchildren, Kelcey Piper and fiancé`Mitchell Lankford, Gavin Bomer, Nevaeh Hull, Izabel Simien, Daimean Simien, Shawn Simien, Ester Simien, Judah Simien, Braxton Killion, Tristan Killion and Yates Killion; great-great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Murillo and Brandi Lankford.
