— Edith Royle Miller went to be with her Lord at the age of 90, on Jan. 18, 2013. Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Cemetery at 11 a.m., Wednesday under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mrs. Miller was a resident of The Fortress Nursing Home in College Station, Texas where she had been well taken care of by hospital staff and doctors.

Mrs. Miller was born on April 19, 1922 to Tom and Clara Johnson Royle. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church in Palestine.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Thomas Miller; brother, Thad Royle; and sisters, Irene Sides, Minnie Bell Blanton, Mildred Cooper and Gladys Pierce.

She is survived by her daughter, Texann Mathis and husband, Robert of Bryan, Texas; son, Ray Thomas Miller Jr. and wife, Jan of Edmond, Okla.; grandchildren, Kristie Deutsch and husband, Darin; Shannon Phillips and husband, Alan; Amy Shenold and husband, Scott; great-grandchildren, Katie Deutsch, Gunner Phillips, Raven Phillips and Kaylee Shenold.

Grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation for the kindness shown to our mother and grandmother by the doctors and staff of The Fortress Nursing Home and Traditions Hospice in College Station, Texas.

Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Association in lieu of flowers.
