Louise McCreary Steadman

Services for Louise McCreary Steadman, 81, of Longview and formerly of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Brent Trahan officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mrs. Steadman died Sunday at Longview Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 4, 1932 in Anderson County to Hubert Owen McCreary and Selma Hickman McCreary. Mrs. Steadman was a homemaker and beautician. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, and loved listening to gospel music.  

Mrs. Steadman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Forest Steadman; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Henry Burris; granddaughter, Shelley Burris; sister, Pauline McCreary; and brother, Buddy McCreary.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sheena and Alton “A.C.” Butler of Longview; son, Keith Steadman of Longview; brother, Donald McCreary; sisters, Lucille Larson, Juanita Strickland and Eunice Gaines; grandchildren, David and Jacklyn Burris of Palestine, Master Chief Curtis and Melissa Butler of Camarillo, Calif.; Christie and Brent Trahan of Angleton, and Jeremy, Steven, Sara and Leslie Steadman of Palestine; great grandchildren, Britney Butler of Denton, Hayley Butler of Camarillo, Calif., Zachary Burris, Dominque Mickens, Isaiah Fox, Alexis Washington, and Joseph, Samuel, and Timothy Trahan of Angleton.

Pallbearers will be Alton Butler, Curtis Butler, Jeremy Steadman, Johnny Gaines, Ricky Linder and Roice Melton.

The family would like to send special thanks to The Clairmont Longview, Heart to Heart Hospice of Longview and Longview Regional Medical Center for the care given during Mrs. Steadman's illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
