Services for James Russell “Rusty” Lincoln, 59, of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Bailey & Foster Chapel with the the Rev. Jordan Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Land of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Lincoln died Thursday in a Tyler hospital after a brief illness.
He was born March 13, 1955 in Palestine to James and Margaret Nell Henson Lincoln.
Mr. Lincoln was born and reared in Palestine. He graduated from Westwood High School and Sam Houston State University with a major in business. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad to Lake Jacksonville. He was a Christian who loved the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Lincoln is survived by a sister, Becky Cooksey and husband Bill of Newark; nephew, Cody Cooksey of Palestine; niece Neili Wolverton and husband Steven of Newark; great-nephew and niece, William and Becca Wolverton of Newark.
Pallbearers will be Cody Cooksey, Roger Depew, Kevin Depew, Carlos Hendrick, Gordon Koenig, Norman Henson, David Scoggin and Steven Wolverton. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick De Freece, Allan Hollingsworth, Todd Hollingsworth and Steven Hollingsworth.
Condolence calls will be received at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to funeral services on Wednesday.
