Robert “Bob” Hardin

Services for Robert “Bob” Hardin, 78, of Palestine, were held Monday at Bailey & Foster Chapel, with Pastor Scott Wiley officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Mr. Hardin passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at his home.

He was born Feb. 18, 1936 in Jackson, Tennessee, to Hal Hardin and Haldean Trull Hardin. He was a truck driver for Wal-Mart, and served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War, and was a life member of VFW No. 3907.

Mr. Hardin was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Hal Hardin, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Hardin of Palestine; sons, Robert Hardin Jr., and wife Renee, Ronald Hardin Sr., and Rodney Hardin Sr., and wife Rhonda, all of Palestine; sisters, Margaret Morroco and Patricia Farrar; brothers, Charles Hardin and Richard Hardin; grandchildren, Ronald Hardin Jr., Nick Hardin and wife Jennifer, Lisa Harrison and husband Justin, Rodney Wayne Hardin Jr. and Halie Pierce, Traci Jones and Coleman Hardin; and 11 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ronald Hardin Jr., Nick Hardin, Rodney Wayne Hardin Jr., Coleman Hardin, Justin Harrison, Raymond Hays and Roger Hardin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.
