— Funeral services for Sharon Flagg Sybert, 68, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel in Palestine, with Dan Manuel officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena, with Pastor James N. Flagg Jr. officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine.

Mrs. Sybert lost her battle with cancer on Nov. 5, 2012. She was born Dec. 13, 1943 in Galveston, Texas to Earl Lawrence Flagg and Artie G. Milner Flagg.  

She attended school in Houston, and went on to be a Houston police officer, retiring in 1982. She attended HPD Class No. 68 and proudly served as a fingerprint classifier until retirement. She was a member of Crockett Road Church of Christ and was a devoted Christian. She truly loved the Lord.

Mrs. Sybert was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Shannon Sybert.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years. Phillip D. Sybert of Palestine; son, Phillip L. Sybert and wife Kim of Lacrosse, Wis.; daughters, Angela J. Hartman and husband Joe of Cypress, and Christina L. Bowker and husband William E. Bowker III of Friendswood; daughter-in-law, Lynn Sybert of LaPorte; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, James N. Flagg and wife Judy of Sugarland.

Condolence calls will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster, Palestine.
