Benita Irene Parker

Benita Irene Parker, 77, of Bolivar, Mo., and formerly of Palestine, Texas, passed away May 23, 2013. Benita was born Nov. 9, 1935, to Benjamin and Irene (Counts) Stephenson in Borger, Texas. Benita was united in marriage to Horace E. Parker Jr. on Aug. 11, 1962, in Phoenix, Ariz. Benita was a member of First Baptist Church of Bolivar.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 33 years, Horace; and one son, David Parker.

She is survived by five children, Jan Cronk and husband Bill of Palestine, Tammy Kelly and husband Hal of Bolivar, Mo., Stephen Parker and wife Jennifer of Olathe, Kan., Lillian Pack and husband Lewis of Cleburne, and Donnie Parker and wife Jane of Borger; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Toni Easton of Albuquerque, N.M. and Sue Reece of Ore City, Texas; and a daughter in-law, Karla Parker of Borger; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Bolivar, with the Rev. Billy Russell officiating. Family will greet the public following the service.  Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Roselawn Park Cemetery on U.S. Highway 84 in Palestine.
