Funeral services for Ira G. Huddleston, 85, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. David Blackmon officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.
Mr. Huddleston passed away Wednesday in Athens.
He was born Feb. 7, 1928 in Anderson County to Martin I. Huddleston and Katie Hill Huddleston.
He was a salesman for Hub Williams Feed Store and Iron Gate Feed. He was a member of Neches Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Huddleston was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Cornelia Hogan and Geneva Melton; brothers, Hilton, Harold, Howard, Weldon and A.L. Huddleston.
He is survived by his wife, Mamye Jo Huddleston of Palestine; sister, Othelia Main of Palestine; brother, Philmon Huddleston of Palestine; sister-in-law, Barbara Huddleston of Palestine; special caregiver, Melba Edwards of Athens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Huddleston, Alex Huddleston, Bobby Huddleston, Jimmy Main, Randy Hogan and Elwin Hogan.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Palestine.
