Steven Geoffrey Berry

Funeral services for Steven Geoffrey Berry, 23, of Rusk, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Jamie Hogan and the Rev. Dan Rankin officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.

Steven Berry passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at UT Southwestern St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

He was born Jan. 29, 1991 in Palestine to Kenneth Geoffrey Berry and Sharon Westmoreland Deel.

Steven Berry previously was a resident of Palestine from birth to August 2004 and from that time on a resident of Rusk. He graduated Rusk High School in 2010 and attended The Art Institute of Culinary and Tyler Junior College in 2011.

Steven Berry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Luther and Marceil Westmoreland; grandfather, Kenneth Nelson Berry; and stepgrandfather, Hulan Deel.

Steven Berry is survived by his wife, Lindie Kay Diane Berry; mother, Sharon Westmoreland Deel and husband Darrell of Palestine; father, Kenneth Geoffrey Berry and wife Kimberley of Rusk; stepsisters, Cherie Sanchez and husband James of Rusk; Jessica Turknit and husband Brent of Belfaire, Wash.; and Stephanie Walker and husband Tanner of Pearland; grandmother, Marva Jo Berry of Tyler; stepgrandmother, Mary Deel of Palestine; stepgrandparents, Martin and Polly Shofner of Jacksonville; and one nephew, four nieces, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Josh Watson, Bozy Wilbanks, Robert Westmoreland, Colbe Bryant, Johnathan Jones and Steven Dawson. Honorary pallbearer will be Lavadrick Singletary.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurday, April 3, at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel.
