Funeral services for Mary Louise Redwine Spaith, 82, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery.
Mrs. Spaith passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 26, 1931, in Graham, Texas to Henry Cody Redwine and Hazel Collier Redwine.
Mrs. Spaith had lived all but six months of her life in Palestine and was a member of the Westwood United Methodist Church. She worked many years as a file clerk with the Texas Department of Human Services and retired in May 2008. She was a charter board member of the Anderson County Sheltered Workshop, charter member of the Anderson County Genealogical Society and member of the Anderson County Historical Commission.
Mrs. Spaith was very involved with the Special Olympics in Anderson County and made comforters and quilts for the needy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Kenneth Spaith Sr.; and a daughter, Tina Marie Spaith.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Spaith Jr. and wife Linda of Palestine; daughter, Hazel Wallace and husband David of Angleton; sister, Jean Handorf of Palestine; brothers, Jack Redwine of Burleson and Harold Redwine of Deer Park; grandsons, Michael Wallace of Angleton and Brad Spaith and wife Heidi of Palestine; great-grandchildren, Bethany and Jacoby Wallace, and Abigail, Addison and Anderson Spaith; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Wallace, Jacoby Wallace, Michael Handorf, James Collier, Kenneth Honeycutt and David Wallace.
Condolence calls will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
