Services for Rosie Thatcher, 83, of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20. 2013, at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Johnny Wills officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Thatcher died Sunday at her residence.
She was born May 16, 1930 in Leon County to Travis Jefferson Fox and Bessie Alvardo Cuzzort Fox.
Mrs. Thatcher was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Thatcher, in 1994; sisters, Lorene Whitaker, Irene Whitaker, Annie May Squyres, and Pearl Jones; and brothers, Henry Fox and Jessie Fox.
Mrs. Thatcher is survived by a brother, Raymond Fox; children, Janet Pendland and husband Mel of Georgetown, Linda Mersiovsky and husband Bryan of Palestine, Hollis Thatcher, Harold Thatcher, and Sandra Douglas and husband Dean, all of Palestine; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two expected soon.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason Thatcher, Craig Alford, Eric Douglas, David Renard, Steve Mersiovsky and Michael Thatcher.
Visitation will be received one hour before the service at Bailey & Foster Chapel, Palestine.
