Cheyenne Elizabeth “Precious” Franklin

— Services for Cheyenne Elizabeth “Precious” Franklin, 17, of Elkhart will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Elkhart High School Gym with the Rev. Randall Reeves and the Rev. Charles McShan officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Chinquapin Cemetery in Walton, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.

Miss Franklin went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,  Saturday in Elkhart. She was a junior in Elkhart High School where she was an active athlete, playing softball and volleyball. She was a high school cheerleader, member of the National Honor Society, Interact Club, and the Elkhart FFA. She was a member of the Denson Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

Miss Franklin was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bob Franklin; and an uncle, Robert Lee “Bronco” Franklin.

She is survived by her parents, Curtis “Beaver” and Lana Franklin of Elkhart; grandparents, Jerry and Brenda Crouch of Elkhart, Wendall and Patsy Franklin Caskey of Grapeland, and Jonel Henderson of Jacksonville; sisters, Hope Harris and husband Dakoda of Nacogdoches, and Faith Franklin and husband Luke McGinn of Elkhart; a brother, Curtis “Lil Beaver” Franklin Jr. of Elkhart; aunts and uncles, J and Shelia Allen of Elkhart, Wade and Renee Crouch of Grapeland, Johnny and Brenda Franklin of Elkhart, Tommy and Lisa Franklin of Alvarado, Will and Retta Adair of Tennessee Colony, Ricky and Shirley Bridges of Grapeland, and Joe and Judy Erwin of Hemphill; nephew, Landyn McGinn and niece Izzy Harris, and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be J.D. Ward, Dylan Ward, Colby Crouch, Shiloh Crouch, Chris Cook and Will Adair. Honorary pallbearers will be the Junior class of Elkhart High School, Pat Gordon, Richard Pharis, Gary McShan, and the Elkhart Middle School, JV and varsity cheerleaders.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Elkhart High School Gym.

Donations may be made to the Cheyenne Franklin Memorial Fund at the Elkhart State Bank.
