Geneva Green Shattles

— Services for Geneva Green Shattles, 90, of Mesquite, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at Norwood Heights Baptist Church in Palestine with the Rev. William Snidow officiating. Lloyd James Funeral Home of Tyler is in charge of arrangements. Burial is in Garden Oaks Memorial Park Cemetery in Berryville Community near Frankston.

Geneva passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

She was born on Dec. 20, 1922 in Royce, (which is now considered to be McLain) Mississippi to the late Benjamin E. and Mellie Redus Green. She was a loving mother, wonderful homemaker and devoted wife.  She loved cooking and quilting as well as providing for her loved ones. Her tremendous gift of love and kindness will be undoubtedly missed.

 Geneva was a faithful member of Norwood Heights Baptist Church in Palestine.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon H. Shattles, with whom she shared a lasting love for nearly 71 years; children, Eleanor Morris, Brenda Fohlmeister (Uwe), and the late Gordon Shattles, Jr. (Ann); grandchildren, Gordon Shattles III (Christy), Charles Shattles (Reggie), John Shattles (Ellie), Robyn Fohlmeister, Terri Morris, and Brian Fohlmeister; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Martha Mauldin (James) and Samuel R. Green.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the Norwood Heights Baptist Church.
