Services for Helen Holder Ray, 86, of Fort Worth, and formerly of Palestine, were at 1 p.m. today at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dr. Woody Wilson officiating. Burial followed at Roselawn Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Ray died Thursday at Odyssey Hospice Unit in Fort Worth.
She was born Feb. 26, 1926 in Anderson County to Andrew Jackson and Carrie Rachael Littleton Holder.
Mrs. Ray was a member of the Southside Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil Ray, in 2008; two grandchildren, Scott Maxwell and Rhonda Maxwell; sisters, Dimple Lowry and Jean Crafton; brothers, William “Bill” Holder and Carroll J. Holder.
She is survived by her daughters, Helen Jeanette Maxwell and Beleta Jean Robbins, both of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Michael Scott, Christopher Scott, Keri Hardman and Shelli Branson; numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Geneva Bennett of Palestine; and a sister-in-law, Lela Holder of Palestine.
Condolence were received one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
