Nunez, Ahee named top sophomores

The Palestine boys’ and girls’ soccer teams both had the district’s Sophomore of the Year as the All-District teams were released.
Wildcat Francisco Nunez and Ladycat Natalie Ahee were named the district’s top sophomores.
The Wildcats had two first-team selections at fullback, juniors Luis Rodriguez and Logan Atkinson.
Seniors Sammy Vargas, a forward, and Prici Zavala, a goalkeeper, were named to the second team. Juniors Abraham Chapa, Saul Macnera and Jonathon Yeakey were honorable mention selections.
For the Ladycats, senior midfielder Bekah Gold and junior forward Shelby Alvarez were first-team selections.
Senior defender Ryann Spradley and sophomore goalkeeper Sandy Bing were named to the second team. Senior Anna Webb and sophomore Sara Bates were honorable mention selections.
