Wildcat golfer wins regional tournament

BRENHAM — Palestine’s Kyle Woodard will be heading to the state golf tournament.

The Wildcat senior won the Class 3A-Region III tournament Thursday afternoon at Brenham Country Club to advance to the Class 3A state tournament on May 14 and 15 at Roy Kizer Golf Course in Austin.

Woodard shot a 72 on Wednesday and a 75 on Thursday to finish with a 147 at the regional tournament.

No other information was provided to the Herald-Press about the regional tournament.
