Palestine Woodard shots 77 in first round of state

AUSTIN — Palestine senior golfer Kyle Woodard shot a 77 Thursday afternoon at Roy Kizer Golf Course in the first round of the University Interscholastic League Class 3A state golf tournament.

Woodard was tied for 24th place after the first round. Devine’s Jacob Torans shot a 67 to lead the tournament.

The state tournament concludes today at Roy Kizer Golf Course.
