Amber Sims and Thomas Cumston, both of Palestine, were married June 28 at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Palestine.
The Rev. Edward Davis of Palestine read vows before an altar decorated with heart shaped candelabras entwined with lilies of the valley and greenery. White satin bows adorned the archways.
The bride lit a memory candle in honor of her late father, Jerry Paul Sims.
Parents of the bride are Linda Morton of Grandbury and the late Jerry Paul Sims of Palestine. Grandparents are Jerry and Wanda Sims of Palestine.
Parents of the groom are Gary and Sharon Cumston of Palestine.
Escorted by her grandfather, Jerry Sims of Palestine, the bride wore an Oleg Cassini white gown embellished with seed pearls and bridal sequins. The sweetheart neckline was fully beaded. The semi-cathedral train was of satin lace and mother of pearl beading and bridal sequins. The finger tip two layer veil of tulle was held in place with a comb adorned with pearls.
The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies, baby’s breath and burgundy roses entwined with tulle and pearls.
Attending the bride was matron of honor, Ally Smalley of Palestine. She wore a strapless floor length satin dress in deep wine, adorned with matching bugle beads and sequins. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies, baby’s breath and burgundy rose buds.
Flower girl was Taylor Cumston, sister of the groom, of Palestine.
Ring bearer was Clayton Blevins, cousin of the bride, of Palestine.
Candle lighter was Shane Bradley, cousin of the bride, of Palestine.
Attending the groom was best man, Daniel Garay of Palestine.
A reception hosted by the parents, grandparents and friends of the bride and groom was held in the fellowship hall of the church. The house party included Sarah Fincher, cousin of the bride; Courtney Cumston, sister of the groom and Amber Blalock, cousin of the groom.
Following a wedding trip to Galveston, the couple will reside in Palestine. The bride is a 2007 graduate of Palestine High School. The groom is a 2005 graduate of Westwood High School. The bride and groom are both employed locally.
