10-9-11: Davis-Smith wedding

PALESTINE — Angela “Beth” Davis of Palestine and  Jason Michael Smith of Ewa Beach, Hawaii were married Sept. 3 at Sabor a Pasion of Palestine.

The Rev. Donnie Howard of Palestine read vows under a pergola decorated with white and Malibu tulle accented with white and yellow calla lilies mixed with fern sprays, in the middle of the vineyard.

Parents of the bride are Kenny and Michele Smith of Palestine and Eric and Shelice Davis of Palmer. Grandparents of the bride are the late Kay Harris and David Woody, both of Palestine; Rusty Davis of Groveton and Shirley Goodwyn of Palestine, and Mack and Charlotte Smith of Temple.

Grandparents of the groom are the late Lois Cornelius of Brea, Calif. , the late Van Patten Cornelius of Stanton, Calif., and Frank and Mary Smith of Salem, Ore.

Escorted by her stepfather, Kenny Smith of Palestine and her father Eric Davis of Palmer. The bride wore a diamond white luminous satin gown designed by Maggie Sottero called “Adelaide.” The A-line one piece strapless gown had a corset closure and featured the glamour of a glistening jeweled bodice. An asymmetrical wrap waist was highlighted with a spray of beading. The back of the gown was accentuated with cascading pleats embellished with jeweled accents. To highlight the gowns beading the bride wore a two tiered waist length veil embellished with crystals.

The bride carried a bouquet of yellow and white calla lilies accented with leaves of fern and tied together with Malibu and yellow satin ribbon and Malibu organza ribbon.

Attending the bride was matron of honor Kayla Le Cheminant, sister of the bride, of Temple. Bridesmaids were Alicia Stewart, sister of the bride, of Palestine; and Saralyn Smith, sister of the groom, of Tucson, Ariz. Junior bridesmaid was Miah O’Neal of Palestine.

Attendants wore Malibu satin dresses of different lengths and carried bouquets of yellow and white calla lilies accented with leaves of fern and Malibu and yellow satin ribbon.

Family members Evan and Haydon Pool of Temple, cousins of the bride, greeted guests as they arrived and distributed programs.

Flower girls were Reagan Pool of Temple, cousin of the bride; and Addison Smith, niece of the groom, of Alvarado.

Ring bearers were Ethan and Coran Smith, cousins of the bride, both of Palestine.

Best man was Jono Smith, brother of the groom, of Tucson, Ariz.

Groomsmen were brothers of the groom Daniel Smith of Alvarado and David Smith of Grand Prairie.

A reception was held at the Sabor a Pasion ballroom with dinner and dancing following the ceremony. A rehearsal family style dinner was held on the eve of the wedding at the home of Kenny and Michele Smith.

The bride is a 2009 graduate of Westwood High School and is currently serving in the United States Air Force in South Korea at Osan Air Force Base where she will finish her tour in February 2012.

The groom is a 2000 graduate of Brea Olinda High School and is currently serving in the United States Air Force in Hawaii at Hickam Air Force Base.

After a honeymoon together in Hawaii, the bride returned to her base in South Korea. The couple will reside together in Hawaii after February.
