11-27-11: Merrick-Stark wedding

PALESTINE — Amy Rene Merrick of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Brent Franklin Stark of Palestine were married Nov. 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Palestine.

The Msgr. Zacharias Kunnakkattuthara of Palestine read vows before an altar decorated with chocolate roses, fall color mums, gold tulle and hurricane candles.

Mother of the bride is Genevieve Merrick of Council Bluffs, Iowa and parents of the groom are Roy and Cathy Stark of Palestine.

Escorted by Steve Riehle, brother-in-law, of Grand Island, Neb. the bride wore a formal A-line organza cap sleeve trimmed in lace gown, chapel train with embellished beaded empire waist. The veil was a finger tip single layer trimmed in lace and beads.

The bride carried a bouquet of white peonies, tulips, dahlias and hydrangeas that cascaded down.

Attending the bride was maid of honor Jennifer Duncan, best friend of the bride, of Dallas.

Bridesmaids were Jenna Riehle, niece of the bride, of Grand Island, Neb.; Amy McMahan friend of the bride, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Heidi Haigood, friend of the bride, of San Angelo.

Junior bridesmaids were Rachel Wasserman of Dallas and Sierra Ventura, great niece of the bride, of Grand Island, Neb.

Attendants wore late strapless ball gowns with pick ups and cocoa and gold sash. The junior bridesmaids wore a cocoa ball gown with ruch sides.

They carried bouquets of chocolate roses and rust dahlias and cream gerberas.

Flower girl was Bella Rivera of Grand Island, NE.

Best man was Danny Hough, best friend of the groom, of Grapevine.

Groomsmen were Todd Stark, brother of the groom, of Tyler, Tom Lynch, friend of the groom, of Palestine and Matt Linn, friend of the groom, of Carrollton.

Junior groomsman was Seth Lyness, nephew, of the groom, of Ben Wheeler.

Ushers were David Riehle, nephew of Grand Island, Neb.; Joseph Stark, son of the groom, of Tyler; and Luke Lyness, nephew, of Ben Wheeler.

Providing music was organist Mary Beth George of Palestine.

A reception hosted by Roy and Cathy Stark, parents of the groom, was held at Bella Sera Ranch.

Following a wedding trip to Graceland in Memphis, Tenn., the couple will reside in Palestine.

The bride is employed at All Star Ford in Palestine and the groom is employed at Family Business Johnson Supply.
