Dr. Lindsay Ann Eckert and Andrew Lee Lewis were married at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 9 in the evening at First Baptist Church, Dallas, with Dr. Robert Jeffress officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Dayton Eckert of Garland. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Garth Lewis of Frisco. Mrs. Rosedell Lewis is the grandmother of the groom. The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Eckert of Lake Palestine and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Latimer Jordan of Palestine.
The favorite royal blue St. John dress of the bride’s grandmother, Evelyn Jordan, was worn at the ceremony by the bride's mother, Judy Jordan Eckert.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a ivory duchess silk wedding gown adorned with silver embroidery on the strapless bodice. The classic mermaid silhouette featured a slender skirt that fell gracefully from the natural waistline with a cathedral train embellished with embroidery and Swarovski crystals. To complete her wedding ensemble, she wore a veil of sheer illusion edged with delicately embroidered blossoms and Austrian crystals that cascaded beyond her train.
Lauren Eloise Eckert, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Holly Evelyn Eckert was an honorary bridesmaid and Helen Eckert Roberson also was a bridesmaid for her sister. Katrina Maher Eash was matron of honor. The other bridesmaids were Dr. Penelope Bustos, Tracy Mabry Fink, Nicole Lynette Rogers, Dr. Renee Blake Brock, Dr. Christen Marie Massey, and Robbie Hicks Barli.
Brian Spencer Ellis served as the best man. Groomsmen were James Tucker Stovall, Jr., and Gary Glen Lewis, brothers of the groom; Sean Michael Sznajder, James Michael Langston, Alfred Michael Giebler, Kenneth Russell Mosley, Jr., Christopher Douglas Sheetz, and Marcus Clint Avara.
Honored attendants were Julie Johnson Davis and Meredith Bruyere Little, cousins of the bride; Camber Carlene Carl, Storey Goldsby Fisk, Dr. Courtney Steele McKendrick, Dr. Shelby Jean Nelson, and Dr. Elizabeth Meyers Tomlin. Candle lighters were Savannah Leigh Stovall and Sydnee Grace Stovall, nieces of the groom. Flower girls were Kathryn Chen Jordan and Carolina Grace Jordan, cousins of the bride. Ring Bearers were Connor Dayton Eckert and Reid Jordan Roberson, nephews of the bride; and James Colton Stovall and Caleb Tucker Stovall, nephews of the groom. The bell ringer was Ryan James Roberson, nephew of the bride. Ushers were Randal Dayton Eckert, brother of the bride, John William Earle, Jr., cousin of the bride, Ryan James Roberson, Mark Louis Sestilio, and Dr. Kristopher Emery Liggett. Soloists were Elizabeth Ann Bruyere, cousin of bride, and Keron Jackson.
Dinner and dancing followed the ceremony at Lakewood Country Club where the bride's uncle, Will Davis Jordan, gave the invocation. On the night preceding the wedding, a catered rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Winfrey Point.
The bride graduated valedictorian from Dallas Christian School in 1999 and was a successful competitive gymnast throughout high school and college. She received her B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003 and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2007 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and has since been in practice at Healthy Smiles 4 Kids in Colleyville.
The groom was a 1998 graduate of South Garland High School and received a B.S. degree from Florida State University in 2003 where he played on the NCAA golf team. He has worked as a golf professional and is currently a property tax consultant with Don Walker and Associates. He also works in residential real estate.
After a honeymoon in Italy, the couple will be at home in University Park.
