12-11-11: Bost-Spark wedding

PALESTINE — Melanie Ann Bost and Matthew Glenn Spark both of Waco, were married Nov. 13 at The Phoenix Ballroom of Waco.

The Rev. Carl Freeto of Arlington and Rabbi Monty Eliasov of Austin, read vows before an altar decorated with red and white roses and candles.

Parents of the bride are Ronald and Ann Bost of Elkhart and parents of the groom are Dr. Harvey and Jo Sparks of Waco.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a soft white strapless gown with a beaded bodice and embroidered accents.

The bride carried a bouquet of red and white roses and mini calla lilies.

Attending the bride was matron of honor Lara Cotte, friend of the bride, of San Diego, Calif.

Bridesmaids were Jeanene Johnson, friend of the bride of Fort Worth; Lauren Wasson, friend of the bride, of Clyde; Carlyn Goldstein, niece of the groom, of Allentown, Pa. and Catherine Bost, sister-in-law of the bride, of Friendswood.

Attendants wore apple red floor-length strapless dresses with matching bolero jackets.

They carried bouquets of white roses.

Flower girls were Madeleine and Penelope Woodman of Seattle, Wash.

Ring bearer was Michael Spark of Waco.

Best man was Benjamin Spark, brother of the groom, of Waco.

Groomsmen were Pierre Pratt, friend of the groom, of Waco; Aaron Woodman, brother-in-law of the groom, of Seattle, Wash.; Justin Little, brother-in-law of the groom, of Seattle, Wash. and Lee Bost, brother of the bride, of Friendswood.

Ushers were Trace Bost, nephew of the bride, of Friendswood; Beau Sullivan, friend of the bride, of Waco and Mark Goldstein, brother-in-law of the groom, of Allentown, Pa.

Providing music were cellist Cody Green of Waco and harpist Vince Pierce of Austin.

A reception hosted by the parents of the bride and groom was held at The Phoenix Ballroom.

House party members included Gretchen Jarosek, friend of the bride; Melody Sowder, friend of the bride; Valerie York, friend of the bride; and Linda Alford, aunt of the bride.

Following a wedding trip to Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica, the couple will reside in Waco.

The bride is a graduate of Elkhart High School and Texas Wesleyan University. She teaches art at the Alta Vista Magnet School for Visual and Performing Arts.

The groom is a graduate of Midway High School, will begin a study of computer science in January at McLennan County Community College and is employed with Waco Pediatric Association .
