Rusty-Boyd wedding

Brittany Hasty of Oakwood and Rusty Boyd of Palestine were married Dec. 4 at Calvary Christian Center of Oakwood.

The Rev. Jack Smith Jr. of Oakwood read vows before an altar decorated with a wrought iron arch with hanging votive globes, red roses, white lilies and greenery. The arch was flanked with two wrought iron candelabras. A monogrammed aisle runner was accented with 18 glass vases and rose petals scattered down each side of the runner.

Parents of the bride are Ben and Cindy Gates of Oakwood and Wesley and Pam Hasty of Palestine and parents of the groom are Roy Boyd of Palestine and Renetta Boyd of Palestine.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a solid white all over beaded corded lace A-line gown with a chapel train, a two-tier elbow length veil with pearl and crystal edges and a thin headband with pearls and crystals.

The bride carried a bouquet of solid red roses wrapped with a sleeve of pearls, there was also a “B” enhanced with pearls inside the bouquet.

Attending the bride was man of honor, Jarrod Hasty, brother of the bride, of Oakwood.

Bridesmaids were Britney Sparks, friend of the bride, of Palestine and Julie Hasty, sister-in-law of the bride, of Oakwood.

Brides man was Colin Hasty, brother of the bride, of Palestine.

Attendants wore black strapless, satin ball gowns with pick-ups and a black sash. Male attendants wore solid black tuxedos with a red vest and tie.

They carried bouquets of solid red roses wrapped with black satin ribbon.

Flower girls were Raylie Ezell of Buffalo and Julia Forrest of Palestine, cousins of the bride.

Ring bearers were Ryan and Rance Boyd of Palestine, nephews of the groom.

Best man was Reggy Boyd, brother of the groom, of Joshua.

Groomsmen were Kris Johnston of Brushy Creek, Randy Boyd of Palestine and Russell Boyd of Oakwood.

Ushers were Casey Johnston of Palestine and Chad Pettiette of Oakwood.

Providing music were soloist Trey Smith of Oakwood and soloist Tara Ayres of Oakwood.

A reception hosted by Ben and Cindy Gates was held at Calvary Christian Center.

House party members included Ceciley Hunt, cousin of the bride; Courtney Young, cousin of the bride; Mandy Shaw, friend of the bride; and Melissa Boyd, sister-in-law of the groom.

Following a wedding trip to the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, the couple will reside in Oakwood.

The bride is a graduate of Oakwood High School and is currently pursuing a degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

She is employed at Texas Oncology in Palestine.

The groom is a graduate of Joshua High School and is currently employed at Watkins Construction in Corsicana.
