Frances Genell Giles
Funeral services for Frances Genell Giles, 71, of Turnertown, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009 at Crawford-A Crim Chapel with James Palmer and Steve Fulton officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.Â
Mrs. Giles went to be with her heavenly Father Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. at the Hospice of East Texas Homeplace, after a brief illness.Â
She was born Oct. 19, 1937 in Rusk County, Texas. She was the second oldest of four girls.
Mrs. Giles graduated from Gaston High School and Tyler Commerce College. She was employed in retail sales and home facilities. Her main enjoyment in life was to celebrate events with her family and friends. She went through life never meeting a stranger and never at a loss for words.Â
As a child of God, she was a devout Christian, and most recently a member of Turnertown Baptist Church. Genell was lucky to meet the love of her life at the age of 14 and experienced a wonderful marriage for 55 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and was loved by everyone in return.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Anna Lois Irwin; and sister, Barbara Barton.Â
Genell is survived by her husband, James E. Giles of Tyler; three daughters, Donna Largent and husband Frank of Neches, Terri Zoeller and husband Bill of San Antonio, and Sherry Magness and husband C.E. of Corsicana; son, Bruce Giles of Palestine; sisters, Darlene Davis of Henderson and Betty Jane Parker of Florida; brother-in-law, Robert Giles and wife Nelda; nine grandchildren: Cliff, Mandy, Misty, Michael, Lauren, Grant, Jeremy, Colton, Hailey; and five great-grandchildren.Â
Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday August 11, 2009.Â
Pallbearers will be Ryan Pence, Michael Shaver, Grant Magness, Bobby Giles, Colton Largent, Jeremy Largent and Tommy Corley. Honorary pallbearers will be John Nicol, Robert Giles, Roger Whitehead, Cecil Fowler and Hal Hunt.Â
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas Homeplace, 444 University BLVD, Tyler, Texas 75701-6623.
