On Feb. 28, 1949, God blessed the union of Arthur J Rogers and Jessie Mae Clewis with their seventh child. They named that child Herman Franklin. On Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, God called Herman home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 675 College St, Beaumont, Tx.

He united with South Union Baptist Church at a young age. As a young boy, he attended Sunday school and Church every Sunday and was very active in the Church. He remained a member until he left Palestine to attend Prairie View College. Herman was educated in the Palestine Public Schools, graduating from A.M. Story High School in 1967.

Herman leaves a wife, Brenda, and two sons, Herman Rogers Jr. and his spouse Stephanie, and Ryan Rogers; three grandchildren, Hillary, Rachon and Ramaya; two brothers, Arthur J. Rogers and his spouse Stella Rogers of Anchorage, Alaska; Jessie L Rogers and his spouse Karen Rogers of Tulsa, Okla.; and one sister to mourn his loss, sister, Ora J. Davis and her spouse George Davis of Benbrook, Tx.; and one sister-in-law, Johnnie R. Rogers of Portland Ore.; spouse of his late brother Leon Rogers. He also leaves 18 nieces and nephews, and a host of grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnephews and great grandnieces. His mother, father, sister, Ruby P Jackson, brothers, Eddie Eugene Rogers and Leon Rogers preceded him in death.
