Featured Event: Donuts for Books

Donut fans can support literacy, too, by purchasing a dozen (or more) red donuts at Jocelyn's Donuts today. Jocelyn's will donate 100% of proceeds today for all sales of red Operation Read donuts, from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Operation Read is a city-wide initiative aimed at improving literacy among all Pre-Kindergarten through third grade students in Palestine by giving each student four free books. Operation Read's main fundraiser, an all-day pancake dinner, is coming up Saturday, Sept. 21, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Call Jocelyn's Donuts at 903-723-8999. For more information about Operation Read, call 903-724-5358.
