The Downtown Rotary Club of Palestine recently made a financial donation to Stockpot for the purchase of food products. The contribution to Stockpot, a non-profit organization, was the Downtown Rotary Club’s Service Project for January. Each week, crews of five to seven community volunteers prepare lunch one day a week. The meals are free to the needy in our community, Monday through Friday. The volunteers serve approximately 1,050 meals a month. The Stockpot provides these services solely by community donations of foods, as well as monetary donations from individuals, organizations and corporations. The Downtown Rotary Club is part of Rotary International, which is a group of humanitarian leaders, 1.4 million strong.
