Anderson County sheriff’s authorities continue to investigate last week’s theft of a generator from outside a residence in northern Anderson County.

The theft was from a travel trailer which was not being used as a residence, but apparently for storage instead, according to Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor.

The travel trailer was adjacent to a residence in the 5000 block of FM 837 in the northern part of Anderson County near Bradford, according to the sheriff.

Reported missing by the owner was a 7500-watt generator valued at $2,000 and “a tackle box” with assorted four-wheeler parts valued at $500, Taylor told the Herald-Press.

The theft apparently occurred sometime between last November and around 5:15 p.m. Thursday, according to authorities.

“Apparently, this is something he hasn’t used in quite some time,” Taylor said. “He went out to check it and the items were gone.”

Officers were unable to locate any evidence at the scene, and there are no suspects in the crime, according to the sheriff.

Anyone providing information leading to the arrest of a suspect in the theft may be eligible to receive up to a $1,000 reward from Anderson County Crimestoppers.

“Crimestoppers will apply to this offense and any theft that occurs in Anderson County,” Taylor said.

Crimestoppers may be contacted by calling (903) 729-TIPS (8477).
