State Representative Cody Harris (R-Palestine), publicly endorsed Doug Lightfoot on Tuesday for Anderson County Constable.
“Doug Lightfoot has faithfully served the people of Anderson County,” Rep. Harris said. “Every day for the last 16 years, Doug has put his life on the line to protect our community. He’s proven that he has our backs. Now, it’s time for us to have his. Our law enforcement officers are being unfairly attacked from the left every day. Here at home, we have honest, hard-working people like Doug Lightfoot who have made it their mission to build relationships with people in every community. Doug cares about making Anderson County a better place for everyone, and that’s why I’m asking you to join me in supporting Doug Lightfoot for Anderson County Constable.”
Cody Harris was first elected State Representative in 2018, serving Texas House District 8 which includes Anderson, Freestone, Hill and Navarro counties.
In the 86th Texas Legislative Session, Rep. Harris was appointed to the Energy Resources Committee, Natural Resources Committee, Local and Consent Calendars Committee, and the Select Committee for Statewide Health Care Costs for the Texas House of Representatives.
He was also elected by his peers to serve on the Texas House Republican Caucus Policy Advisory Committee.
Harris has been a resident of Anderson County since age 7. His four children attend school at Elkhart ISD.
