Cody Baker and Toby Murray finished as the Wildcats top performers with their 12th place finish.

The Cayuga High School bass fishing team had four teams place at the Richland Chambers tournament this past weekend. The group weighed in eight fish for a total weight of 22.24 pounds.

Cody Baker and Toby Murray finished as the Wildcats top performers with their 12th place finish. Baker and Murray reeled in four fish weighing a total of 10.11 pounds from Richland Chambers Lake. A total of 187 teams fished in Saturday's competition.

Their placing was a solid improvement from their 32nd place finish in their last tournament action at Lake Palestine.

Fellow Cayuga team Morgan Banta and Kolten Goolsby finished 33rd overall. The duo secured two catches for a total weight of 5.75 pounds.

Owe Cretsinger and Austin Moore caught one fish for 4.44 pounds, while Emily Banta and Kara Stovall also reeled in a single catch for 1.94 pounds.

The Wildcats total team weight (22.24) bested several area teams such as Cross Roads, who caught for fish for a total weight of 9.35 pounds; Kerens, whose single placed team weighed one fish for 2 pounds and Leon who didn't receive a placement.

Cayuga's final tournament of 2019 will come Nov. 9 at Lake Fork.
