Frankston's Jaclyn Foster

Frankston High School's Jaclyn Foster dribbles during the closing moments of a Conference 3A-Region III bi-district girls' basketball game at Leon in rural Jewett on Monday.

LEON — Frankston was the lone Anderson County District 20-3A school to qualify for the playoffs, but the journey was short lived.

Little River Academy outscored Frankston 19-7 in the second quarter to take a 29-13 lead by intermission — and the Lady Bees eventually toppled the Maidens by 20 points.

Abbie Ramsey was Frankston's leading scorer with eight points, including 3-of-5 from the free-throw line and one 3-pointer. Tia Billingsley added six more.

Two Little River Academy players entered double-digit scoring as Alex Fastzkie netted 12 points and Aubrey Fossett 10, respectively.

The Lady Bees (21-10) advanced to the area round of the playoffs, where they will face Blooming Grove.

Meanwhile, this marked the final scholastic basketball game for Maidens' Jordan Kliebert and Kiana Eldridge.

Frankston finished the 2019 season with a 13-22 record.
