Teague 56, Elkhart 41
The Elkhart Lady Elks took a district opener loss to the Teague Lady Lions Friday on the road. Madison Crader led the Lady Elks with 11 points. Jayci Moseley added nine and Haleigh Chapin contributed nine points. They'll return home Tuesday for home district contest against the Buffalo Lady Bison. Varsity is scheduled to tipoff following JV's 4:30 p.m game.
Frankston 52, All Saints 13
The Frankston Maidens closed out their non-district schedule with a blowout victory over All Saints Friday afternoon, 52-13. Abbie Ramsey had a game-high 13 points. Teallie Tatum pitched in nine points and Maggie Caveness had eight points.
Grapeland 91, Latexo 21
The Grapeland Sandiettes routed Latexo in their district opener behind a 53-point first half Friday evening. The Sandiettes saw five players reach double-figures on the night.Teirra Jones led the way with 16 points. Jessie Payne followed behind her with 13 points. Keaundra Harris had 12, while Kenya Woods and Christi Shepard added 10 points. The Sandiettes will host the Alto Lady Yellowjackets Tuesday night at 6:15 p.m.
Centerville 49, Slocum 22
The Slocum Lady Mustangs opened district with a loss against Centerville Friday, 49-22. Brooke Sims led the Lady Mustangs with six points followed by Marless Lasiter and Jolie Bownan who each had five points. Slocum will attempt to bounce back at home Tuesday against Lovelady
Cayuga 46, Alto 44
The Cayuga Ladycats held off the Alto Lady Yellowjackets Friday in a narrow 46-44 victory. Cayuga led 35-33 after three quarters and were able to hold onto to their slim advantage behind behind six fourth-quarter points from Briley Shaw. Shaw and Reagan Clark led the Ladycats in scoring with 15 points a piece. The Ladycats return home Tuesday for their first of two straight non-district home games. They'll host New Summerfiield with varsity scheduled to follow the JV game at 5 p.m.
Chireno 38, Neches 29
The Neches Lady Tigers were edged out at home against the Chireno Lady Owls Friday, 38-29. Lexi Rogers led all scorers with 18 points. Kacie Kimbrough was held to seven points, while Abigail Spaith added four. The Lady Tigers will enjoy a bye Tuesday before hosting Laneville Friday.
