PALESTINE - The 4A state-ranked #6 Palestine Wildcats (15-5-2) swept the crosstown rivalry by defeating Westwood, 9-0, Tuesday night.
RUSK – In 2011, Neches head coach Andy Snider and the Lady Tigers was coming off of back-to-back state championships. 10 years later, Snider has his team primed for another state title berth following their 53-50 win over the Chireno Lady Owls Tuesday.
Palestine Ladycat Ay'Lashia Fantroy was selected as District 17-4A Most Valuable Player after helping lead them to their highest district seed since 2011.

KERENS – The Neches Lady Tigers are back in the regional semifinals for the first time since their state title run in 2012 following their 62-57 overtime win against the Abbott Lady Panthers.
MALAKOFF – “It's like the Bucs and Saints.” That was the pregame speech Frankston Maidens Head Coach Christi Coker gave to help lift her team to a 59-55 upset over the 14th ranked LaPoynor Lady Flyers Thursday evening.
Palestine Wildcat Jarrett Henry received honorable mention on the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State team for class 4A.
Tuesday night the Palestine Ladycats continued district play against the Lady Lions from Livingston. The girls earned their fifth consecutive win in District after defeating their opponents with a final score of 3-1.
