OAKWOOD--Darnell Walker and Carlton Lester recorded double-doubles Tuesday night as Cayuga (1-0) defeated Oakwood 57-36 at Panther Gymnasium.

Walker finished the night with 17 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and five steals. Lester finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

The Wildcats outscored Oakwood 33-15 in the first half and carried the lead throughout the game. Cayuga outscored the Panthers by just three points in the second half.

Next up for Cayuga will be Eustace Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in its opening game of the Cayuga Wildcat Basketball Tournament.

Douglas 64, Slocum 61, 2 OT

SLOCUM--Douglas needed extra time to defeat Slocum 64-61 Tuesday night at Mustang Gymnasium.

Slocum trailed Douglas by three-points in halftime, but outscore Douglas 29-26 in the second half.

Jared Lane scored 28 points, hitting four three pointers. Adam Williams added 13 points in the loss.

Slocum will participate in the Martinsville Tournament Thursday.

Central Pollok 65, Neches 44.

POLLOK--Class 3A power Central Pollok was too much for the Neches Tigers Tuesday night. Central defeated Neches 65-44 at Central Pollok High School.

Central led by 30 points at the end of the third quarter, but Neches was able to put up 21 points in the fourth quarter.

Chad Cook led Neches with 16 points and was one of three players scoring in double-digits. Justin Todd and Tony Marshall each had 10 points for the Tigers.

Neches will participate in the Woden Tournament Thursday.
