The Palestine boys’ cross country team continued its dominance of the 2011 season Wednesday, winning another meet in which all of its runners finished in the top 10.

The Wildcats captured the title at the Grapeland meet, led by Denis Quincin’s second-place finish.

It was the Wildcats’ fifth-straight meet victory and sixth out of the seven meets they’ve competed in this season.

Tyler Barnard finished third, followed by Alec Meyers in sixth, Chris Chaillot in seventh and Miguel Varnardo in eighth to round out Palestine’s scoring five. Mason Munoz finished ninth.

The Ladycat varsity team finished fifth overall, led by Jessica Garcia. Following Garcia were McKenze Sander, Nidia Umanzor, Nadia Guitz and Gabby Steele to round out the Palestine top five. Finishing places were not available.

The Palestine boys junior varsity also won the race, with Edgar Navarro winning the individual title as well. He was followed by Timmy Klauser in second, Alex Chapa in third, Pable Aguilar in sixth and Kevin Martinez in eighth.

The Ladycat JV finished tied for first place, but was awarded second after a tiebreaker. Tiebreakers use the team’s sixth runner, which Palestine did not have.

Xochitl Zavala led that team, followed by Alex Rocha, Sara Barron, Vanessa Giron and Anna Stacy.
